i'm still here

But I'm not standing.

Still in the cast, for much longer than they thought I'd be. I'm actually in more pain than I used to be. And I'm buried under paperwork. I haven't blogged because I haven't wanted to depress anyone.

Thanks for the well-wishes! I'll be back and cheery soon!

we'll miss you, Howard.

Howard Keel with co-star Jane Powell

I fell in love with Howard Keel when I saw him "tame" Kathryn Grayson in 1953's Kiss Me Kate. One of my favorite musicals, and one in which I've performed Bianca a few times, Howard's presence captivated me onscreen.

The New York Times quotes him this morning as saying,"If you're a singer and love to sing, as I do, there is nothing more fulfilling than standing on a stage when you're in a good voice and belting out songs."

I leave you with this image from Pagan Love Song:

Hmmm. Mmmm. Mmmm hmmm.

broken.

Yep, I managed to break my good ankle.

It didn't really hurt too much, even after I wore the 7 inch platform heels on Saturday night (and there was the whole walking around The Hood in Southwest Atlanta talking about selling me to the lowest bidder...my response was that if I were arrested at least make my story good enough to make The Blotter in Creative Loafing (and this week's report about the man drinking a soda on an airplane in Hartsfield-Jackson Airport was quite excellend, I love our security here in Atlanta). But after standing in line from 6:40 AM until after 8:20 AM today to vote, I need some strong painkillers.

That's all she wrote, the pain is strong. I have promises of pictures and The Man Who Lives in the House SWEARS he will find the camera charger this week.
